What is a TFT-LCD?
TFT-LCD is a variant of liquid crystal display (LCD) which uses thin-film transistor (TFT) technology to improve image qualities such as addressability and contrast. TFT-LCD is an active matrix LCD. Compared with CRT, TFT-LCD is more thin and light but uses very little power. TFT-LCD has high resolution due to the silicon layer deposited on a glass panel. TFT-LCD is applied in various areas such as car audio system and laptop computer and expected to widely used in wall-mountable TV, HDTV, computer monitor, dashboard and instrumental panel.
