There are two kinds of powder injection molding that are Metal Injection Molding(MIM) and Ceramic Injection Molding(CIM). Input types of metal powder and ceramic powder into binder system and mix them with binder, then get green body after the mixing powder injection molding. Following is debinding the binder with supercritical CO₂ and sintering at the last step. Supercritical CO₂can pass through microscopic voids of metal powder and melt the binder fast. Debinding with supercritical CO₂advantages are mass production, exacted binder's reuse, time saving and no harm to environment. Even though large investment at first, this is effective method in the long-term.

Application
Supercritical CO₂ debinding is widely used in binder removal, paraffin wax removal and polishing oil removal from swarf in powder injection molding process.
